How does the LSS Sling Load (LSS-SL) Work?
The LSS in its entirety connects to the cable suspended between the helicopter. The LSS-SL can be suspended over any load and per normal operational protocols, be attached to the auto-releasing hooks at the bottom of the LSS-SL. Upon mission completion, these hooks will release the load for the next operation. With a combination of critical sensor suites and LED displays, both the pilot and crew chief can position loads within 6 inches of a target.
