Vita’s History, and Our Mission.
WHO WE ARE:
Vita Inclinata Technologies (“Vita”) was founded to save lives. In 2009, founder Caleb Carr watched as a friend died because a helicopter was unable to rescue him due to the swinging of the helicopter hoisting system. Seeming impossible, Caleb proceeded to forget about the situation until questioned by a professor at CU Denver, Dr. Randall Tagg. Explaining his passion to go to medical school due to the situation in 2009, Dr. Tagg simply responded by asking “well why the hell don’t you fix it?” It was this simply question that was the start of the Vita mission.
Vita is comprised of young innovators and drivers in the aerospace industry. With backgrounds from UBER, Microsoft, NASA, and many other industries, team members have come together with one mission at it’s core; to save lives. Vita currently has two main offices in Denver and Seattle, with satellite offices in Washington DC and Estonia. Vita’s network is made up of 59 people and is capable to change an industry that hasn’t changed since its inception in the mid 1900’s.
WHAT WE ARE DOING:
Vita is pioneering new innovative hardware solutions for daily safety problems in aerospace, construction, and other dangerous industries. Vita’s first product, the Load Stability System was created to solve the deadly swinging of helicopter hoisting and sling load systems.
By leveraging relationships with Defense OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturers), the Pentagon, and other national and international military agencies, Vita develops safety solutions to save lives and improve military operations. Beyond military safety technology, Vita’s mission prompts team members to identify these DOD solutions for commercial markets like construction and logging.
Over the next couple of years, Vita will release technologies which will change the way that both flight and safety operations are completed across the US military. It is Vita’s vision 2020 that common day safety problems are not a common reality shared by operators all over the world.
WHY WE ARE DOING IT:
Vita’s initial mission was founded following the death of a member of a local search and rescue crew member. After the team member went into Cardiac Arrest, founder Caleb Carr and his search and rescue team called the Oregon National Guard to rescue him. When the helicopter arrived, the hoist started to lower a basket. However, due to the high winds that night, the swinging basket couldn’t get through the trees below. After multiple attempts of trying to get the basket down to Caleb’s friend, the helicopter pilot called off the mission, and his friend died minutes later. Simply put, Vita is our to ensure a lack of technology, like was exhibited so long ago, will never be the difference between life and death.
